For reasons beyond our understanding Harry has been sidelined twice in this championship for all the wrong reasons. At Zandvoort a month ago, the whole day was wasted when the car refused to start. Then, at Spa Francorchamps yesterday (Saturday 30 May) whilst holding a healthy lead and within sight of the finish, guess what. A puncture forced Harry to make a last-minute pit stop. Result, a hard earned measly third place, and just a token couple of points. By close of play that evening we were all for giving up. But hey, in motorsport, tomorrow is always another day.

Sunday 31st May: Conditions dry with some sunshine. Ideal. Forty minutes of practice showed up no faults and twenty minutes of qualifying proved Harry was well on the pace, starting as usual on the front row with a renewed determination to win. And win he did, driving a copybook one-hour race. Frankly, with a forty second cushion, he made it look easy.

So at last it’s game on. In four weeks time the team travels to Zolder, a challenging 2.5-mile circuit south-east of Brussels, where the format changes to a pair of short thirty-minute races on Saturday, followed by a one-hour endurance on Sunday. We can hardly wait.
