Spa Francorchamps 25-28 April 2024. Weather: Rain, Clearing Through Weekend.

With Barton Racing committed to Goodwood mid-week, Thursday testing at Spa Francorchamps prior to the weekend’s 3 Hour Endurance Race was left to Ollie Reuben, Harry’s co-driver. Sadly, not only was the weather decidedly unhelpful but the TVR’s engine gave trouble, forcing an overnight last minute change ready for Saturday qualifying where the two drivers overcame all odds, putting the TVR Griffith on pole for Sunday. It proved dry on race day, Harry made a good start, handing over at the one hour mark comfortably third. Ollie refueled under safety car conditions, the perfect scenario, and chased after the pack, it was however, too good to be true. On the next lap our second engine blew and was retired with suspected piston trouble. Disappointing but not a wholly wasted weekend. We had now proved that we could take on the big boys, and with a modicum of luck, next time, win. Next week is Donington and the three hour MRL Pall Mall Cup. So fingers crossed.
