Barton Racing Celebrates In Style With Another Important Win.
For the second consecutive year Harry Barton/Ollie Reuben concluded their UK season by driving the Barton Racing TVR Griffith to overall victory in the prestigious Motor Racing Legends Pall Mall Cup Race 2024. It was a victory deserved with a well briefed and clearly defined team all stepping up to the plate and playing their part. Thirty-four cars qualified, with the TVR down in sixth place owing to wet conditions, but the track conveniently dried out by lap three of the race allowing Harry to take a lead which effectively the pair maintained till the chequered flag. Earlier in the day Harry also proved his growing flexibility by helping Roger Whiteside (2008 Morgan Aero 8 GT3) to finish 15th overall, and second in class in the newly introduced MRL GT3 race series. Harry’s lap times in the latter part of the race were directly comparable to the top five which bodes well for next season.
Many thanks to Nigel Reuben for as always, providing such an exemplary prepped TVR and pit crew. And to Simon Pragnell and his team at Fox Craft Racing for working overtime on the Morgan, a really competitive car with heritage and podium potential.
So with winter now upon us we leave our friends at Geoff Steel Racing working hard on the Toyota Supra GT4, while Retro Engineering are looking to finalise work on the exciting Lister Storm project. The plan being to test both this and our BMW 2002 Schnitzer somewhere warm and sunny, ready for the 2025 season. Onwards and upwards, and as always with Barton Racing, there are more exciting plans in the pipeline.
