PBOC Sebring Winterfest 17-21 January
Another highly polished performance by Barton Racing opens the 2024 season.
Taking on the cream of American racers at their favourite track the newly built Toyota Supra GT4 EVO of Barton Racing completed six races totalling over nine hours, not including qualifying and warm up sessions, without a hitch, apart from a bout of premature brake pad wear. Neat pit work however negated the problem which resulted in just the one pit stop which did not affect the results.
Opening the four day programme, a tough, rain sodden, six hour endurance race, Harry and Nigel Greensall sharing. This pairing gets better with every outing, and although outnumbered by a plethora of faster cars, careful planning resulted in a fine 3rd overall.
Next up, a 90 minute enduro, well supported with a grid of fifty cars. This turned out to be a very aggressive, free for all with plenty of waved yellows. Harry and Nigel kept well away from the battling midfield to take 12th overall and 3rd in class. Very satisfactory.
This left Harry to drive and survive four twenty-five minute sprint races during Saturday/Sunday, Nigel happy to sit on the pit wall giving advice over the radio to our rising star. Again fast and furious the Toyota showed great pace improving position time after time. Come close of play the team could celebrate six finishes out of six, and five podiums. Not bad. Not bad at all.
The Team now returns to Europe and a programme of pre season testing.
Barton Racing would like thank Thunder Bunny Racing and Geoff Steele Racing for together providing the highest levels of preparation and support.
