NLS6: Nürburgring Germany 15/16 August 2025: Early Bath For Harry.

It was always going to be a risky strategy. Four drivers sharing one car in a six hour race around the most demanding track in the world. Worse, our Harry had drawn the short straw and was down to drive the final stint. Optimism inside the Barton Racing garage was therefore shall we say, at a low ebb.

Then. After a week of sunshine, low lying local fog and light drizzle on Saturday morning forced the organisers to delay the start, and reduce the race length. Thus Harry’s potential time in the car was automatically reduced. Qualifying was also cut back to a mere half hour, with just lead rivers setting times. More disappointment for HB. Eventually, and with one hundred and five cars packing the grid the flag was waved. Plenty of noise and jostling for position, but after the initial first lap melee things began to settle down.

The news concerning our demise came through after just fifteen minutes: number one driver having crashed out somewhere nearby the Karussell and was now making the long walk back. Barton Racing has had better weekends.
